New York Fashion Week Rocks
September 16, 2011
Irene Michaels and Oscar de la Renta
Like a Christmas tree in "Miracle on 34th Street", New York city shops lit up, opened their doors, and started pouring the champagne on Thursday to officially start Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Fashionistas from around the country flocked to New York city to celebrate Fashion Week, which spotlights such popular names as Tommy Hilfiger, Vera Wang, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Lauren, Dennis Basso, Nicole Miller, Betsey Johnson, Carolina Herrera and many more.
The style capital of the world shimmered from Sept. 8th to 15th, with Lincoln Center being the epicenter of activities.
Thursday evening festivities exploded on opening night with parties in almost every shop on Madison Ave.
Making their debut in Lincoln Center were an impressive number of new designers including Candela, Emerson, Falguni Peacock, and Pink Tartan.
After all the attention given to this fashion party week, even the Statue of Liberty will be blushing with envy !!
Missino Maddness
Causing an overnight style sensation were the lines and designs of "Missino", premiering his department store fashion collection at Target stores around the country.
Although his wavy lines resembled a 1960's T.V. screen, they more closely resembled the heartbeats of females across the U.S.A. who were lucky enough to get their sweaty palms on one of his stylish, colorful creations while his fabrics still remained on certain store shelves.
Phenomenal were the sales of Target stores as months of Missino inventory disappeared Tuesday morning in Guiness Book world record-setting time of 60 minutes or less...
The tremors customers felt on Tuesday morning were not from a volcano erupting but from Target store's website crashing for the first time ever; resulting in astonishing sales that soared above Black Friday, traditionally the best shopping sales day of the year.
